Ahead of participating in TST 2024 – a 7v7 $1m winner-takes-all tournament – Burnley FC co-owner and former NFL great J.J. Watt went on a tireless journey to prepare for the pitch. From training with his wife, Kealia, to working on cardio – something he admitted he "does not like" – the ex-NFL superstar ran into one massive roadblock: finding soccer cleats that fit.

Watt wears a size 15 shoe, and despite numerous attempts to try and find a pair of soccer shoes to fit him, he came up unlucky. USMNT standout Christian Pulisic was even recruited to help, with the AC Milan star sending him a pair of boots from his personal line.

Unfortunately for Watt, they did not fit the 6-5 former defensive lineman. As a result, he's stuck wearing NFL cleats on the pitch this week in Cary, N.C.

WHAT WATT SAID

"I searched high and low and talked to companies and could not find a single pair of size 15 football cleats," Watt said. "Christian Pulisic very kindly sent me a pair, but they were not big enough, so we are wearing American football cleats and they’re going to have to do!"
